Taylor Swift spent her final day as a 34-year-old visiting with patients and families at a Kansas City children’s hospital.
“Tayprincess spending the day before her birthday to visit the kids at the Children’s Mercy Hospital, right after finishing her tour,” a Taylor Swift fanpage shared via X on Thursday, December 12, alongside photos of the singer’s visit.
Taylor, 34, was seen in photos posing with patients and even took the time to sign autographs.
“To Rylie, It was so awesome to meet you!! And to meet your mom and Bo! Love, Taylor,” she wrote to a fan inside her The Eras Tour Book.
Other footage from the popstar’s visit showed her Facetiming with family members who were not present, posing for a photo with a group of nurses and cuddling with a hospital facility dog named Jelly.
Taylor – who dressed in a dark green and black pleated schoolgirl skirt and matching plaid blazer with knee-high leather boots – was also seen laughing hysterically when a Swiftie showed off their Kansas City Chiefs blanket that read “Go Taylor’s Boyfriend.”
“I like Travis now,” one fan is heard saying, referring to Taylor’s boyfriend and Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. “Yes, me too! That’s an absolute yes on that one,” Taylor replied.
Fans flooded social media with praise after footage of Taylor’s visit began circulating. “Imagine just going to work and Taylor Swift is there. I would die,” one fan commented after fanpage Swifties for Eternity reshared the photos on Instagram. “Awww she’s the sweetest! also this is me realizing she’s in my state,” another Swiftie added, while yet another chimed in, “Wow! She’s amazing… Biggest star in the world taking time to share love with sick children!”
The “Karma” artist’s visit with the children took place one day before her 35th birthday, a milestone year for Taylor.
“We exist in this society where women in entertainment are discarded by the time they’re 35,” she said in 2019. “I don’t know if I’ll be onstage. [Maybe] I’ll be behind the scenes, writing songs for other people. I don’t know if I want someone in my life.”
She added, “I really like to let life happen rather than having a plan for it.”
Of course, the Pennsylvania native is the queen of planning and is currently on top of the world as she just wrapped her record-breaking Eras tour after 149 shows around the world.
“We have had so many adventures. It has been the most exciting, powerful, electrifying, intense, most challenging thing I’ve done in my entire life. We’ve gotten to perform for over 10 million people on this tour,” she told the crowd in Vancouver, Canada, on Sunday, December 8, calling the tour the “adventure of a lifetime.” “And tonight, we get to play one last show for you here tonight in beautiful Vancouver. We’re gonna make it count.”
Taylor – who turns 35 on Friday the 13th – will enjoy a much-deserved hiatus after nearly two years of touring and will likely be a staple at Arrowhead Stadium for the rest of the NFL season.
“Shout-out to Tay and the unbelievable Eras tour [that] has finally come to an end,” Travis said during the Wednesday, December 11, episode of his “New Heights” podcast. “Shout-out to everybody that was a part of that show. Obviously, it’s her music, her tour and everything, but that was a full production, man. That thing was the best tour in the world because of a lot of people, but mostly because of Taylor,” he gushed.
