In 1361, a Danish invasion army fought against Goths in a battle outside the ring wall where upwards of 2,000 people died.
The skull was found in one of the mass graves near the battle that archaeologists excavated in the 1920s.
Must be scary
Brazilian 3D designer Cicero Moraes happened to find images of the skull while doing a study on photogrammetry.
Using that technology, he has made a digital model of what the man might have looked like and how his injuries might have occurred.
– I hope that people can see what a conflict really means.
Today, for example, we can see many images from war that do not show what is happening there.
We only see destroyed houses, armored vehicles driving and troops marching.
But what happens in the actual battle, and the level of violence, must be terrifying.
This facial reconstruction is a reminder of what can happen, says Cicero Moraes in an email to SVT Nyheter Öst.
